| Sister Irmaine Christophe, school principal. One night a few months before this photograph was taken, the school, which is located next door to a large peasant organization, the Peasant Movement of Papaye, was burned out by arsonists. No one was injured, but much of the school was destroyed. Note that in the photograph here, Sister Irmaine is not standing in a courtyard, but in a hall the top of which was incinerated. |
