Ely Oduquesne, legal counsel to peasant resistance.

Only very rarely have macoutes been brought to justice. However, one of the murderers of Elyzé Lionceau was tried and convicted, and he served a three year jail sentence. Ely Oduquesne helped prosecute the case, and he represented the peasants shown here and others in their efforts to obtain justice. Ely Oduquesne and Nadèpe Lionceau, the son of murdered organizer Elyzé Lionceau, are harrassed and have been repeatedly threatened by the macoutes who remain at large. They are always on guard against ambush.
